  • Remove before swimming, showering, or applying lotion or perfume.

  • Clean gently with warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth.

  • Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.

Silver jewelry care

  • Keep silver in a dry, airtight container to reduce tarnishing.

  • Store your silver jewelry separately to avoid scratches.

  • For deeper cleaning, use warm water with mild soap. Dry it well.

  • Avoid water, perfume, and cleaning products while wearing silver.

With the right care, your jewelry will stay shiny and special for a long time. If you prefer, you are always welcome to bring in your pieces for a professional cleaning and maintenance.

About Gold Plated Silver

Gold plated silver jewelry is made of solid sterling silver with a thin outer layer of real gold. This layer is measured in microns, and although it gives the jewelry its golden shine, it is only a surface coating.

Over time, the gold plating will naturally wear off with use, especially in areas that come into frequent contact with skin, surfaces, or friction. This is completely normal and part of the nature of plated jewelry.

Rings, for example, tend to lose their plating faster than other pieces. Because rings are worn on the hands, they are exposed daily to water, soap, sweat, friction, and impact. This leads to scratches and gradual fading of the gold layer.

In contrast, earrings and necklaces tend to keep their gold plating much longer, as they experience much less contact and wear.

To extend the life of your gold plated jewelry:

  • Avoid wearing it in water (showers, pools, washing hands)

  • Remove it before applying lotions, perfumes, or hand sanitizer

  • Store it in a dry, soft pouch when not in use

If the gold layer fades over time, your piece can often be replated to restore its original shine.
